Must Stop Coffee Shops in Door County

The coffee scene in Door County continues to grow! It's my mission to always try a new coffee spot every time we travel up to to the Peninsula. Here is a list of my favorite spots (in no particular order), so far! 



1. Brew Coffeehouse 

The service at Brew is top notch. The workers are extremely friendly and quick to whip up your favorite drinks. My brother in law still talks about how amazing their breakfast sandwiches were (very generous in size and tasty). They also sell an assortment of pastries and breads.

Located only a short 4-minute drive from Beechwood Cottage. Visit them at 12002 WI-42, Ellison Bay, WI 54210 - Open daily from 6:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

2. Skip Stone Coffee Roasters

Skip Stone is located in the heart of Sister Bay close to shops, the water and dining.  The interior is insta-worthy and so cute and cozy. The cafe has multiple levels with seating areas throughout. They have a very nice selection of specialty drinks and fun seasonal drinks. I had their cold brew and it was so flavorful. They also serve breakfast sandwiches and homemade pastries that make your mouth water just looking at them.

Located only 5 minutes from Beechwood Cottage! Visit them at 10678 North Bay Shore Drive, Sister Bay, WI - Open daily from 7:30 am - 12:30 pm

3. Door County Coffee & Tea Company

I ordered a bunch of single pot coffee bags from Door County Coffee & Tea Company online for holiday gifts and when I realized their storefront was located across the street from Door Peninsula Winery I knew we had to make a quick stop after our wine tasting. Inside you are able to order coffee drinks as well as shop a variety of their coffee and tea products and other local gifts and merchandise. It's a great stop to grab a nice hot cup of joe, browse the store and stock up on your favorite coffee grinds. Side note --Their Peanut Butter Crunch and Frosted Cinnamon Bun flavored coffee is delicious!

Family Friendly Winter Hiking Trails

  Yes, there's still a lot to discover up in Door County during the winter months! Over the holiday break we were lucky enough to have a fresh blanket of snow on the ground and a couple of hiking trails on our list to complete during our trip up north. We were very excited when we realized that both trails were easy enough to pull our toddler in a sled throughout the hike.  Three Springs Nature Preserve The first trail on our list was  Three Springs Nature Preserve in Sister Bay (about 10 minutes from Beechwood Cottage ). The trail was extremely well marked and the trees were absolutely stunning with snow on them.  Along the trail you run into some old structures including an old barn. My son was very excited to take a peek inside. Just after the barn you end up at the picturesque springs. They have a few benches for people to sit down, relax and really take in its beauty.  Before going on this hike we knew there would be some nice photo opportunities but were pleasantly surprised
